Video: Rochester Fire Chief receives COVID-19 vaccination

Dozens of first responders received COVID-19 vaccines during the first couple days of operations at the state’s vaccination site on Brock Street in Rochester.

Rochester Fire Chief Mark Klose received his vaccination on camera in order to boost public confidence and encourage the community to get vaccinated when it becomes widely available.

“I have no issues getting this vaccine,” said Klose. “Nothing to be afraid of… It’s a great thing for the State of NH, first responders, and the country.”

Klose later described the process as “painless” and as a “proud moment.” He and even joked with medical staff as they administered the vaccination.

The vaccination site is not yet open to the general public. According to state health officials, the public’s vaccinations will be coordinated locally through primary care providers.

More information will be reported as it becomes available.
