A veterinarian in Vermont has lost his practicing license after allegations he was cruel and mishandled animals in his custody.

Dr. Robert Wendell can no longer practice as his license is suspended following allegations of animal mistreatment at his practice, Aeolus Animal Hospital in Manchester.

The Vermont Office of Professional Regulation issued the suspension after multiple former employees accused him of aggressive and abusive behavior toward pets.

Dr. Wendell and his attorney strongly deny the claims, calling them false and part of a smear campaign.

They emphasize his long-standing reputation as a trusted and knowledgeable veterinarian committed to animal welfare.

A formal review process is now underway to examine the allegations and determine the next steps.
