Published on

At the June 9th School Board meeting, Superintendent Kyle Repucci briefly talked about student safety in his opening report. Repucci mentioned that school safety is “unfortunately back in the news”, referring to the recent occurrence in Uvalde, Texas.

“I just want to assure everyone that the State of New Hampshire is continuing to collaborate with districts on school safety,” said Repucci. “This summer we have plans to review policies and procedures, continue to work with Homeland Safety on school readiness programs and audits.”

In addition to strengthening safety methods and procedures, Repucci promised to continue collaborating with the municipal police and fire departments throughout the summer and early fall to better coordinate various means of communication.

Repucci concluded by stating that his staff is committed to reviewing social and emotional wellness needs and planning future schedules, drills, and exercises in order to keep students and teachers safe in Rochester public schools.
