Spaulding High musical ‘Disney’s Descendants’ rescued by Rochester Opera House

After two years of the coronavirus pandemic shutting down the Spaulding High School spring show, this year’s production of “Disney’s Descendants: The Musical” was set to be a triumphant return. The students and directors couldn’t believe it when trouble struck again.

In February, Spaulding music director Ron Goodwin learned about significant water damage in the school’s auditorium. It became apparent this could affect the show.

“We were all stunned to hear the news,” Goodwin said. “But if COVID has taught us anything, it taught us how to roll with the punches.”
