Rochester Teens Turn Stories In Superpowers At Comic Awards

More than 70 Rochester teens have turned their stories into superpowers at the inaugural Comic Empowerment Awards.

The event was was held at the Rochester City Library.

As an innovative 21st century digital learning space created based on the principles of Connected Learning, ImagineYOU connects young adults, books, media, mentors, and institutions throughout the City of Rochester in one dynamic space designed to inspire collaboration and creativity.

The John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation, The Institute of Museum and Library Services and the Friends & Foundation of the Rochester Public Library are among the partners that made it possible through sponsorship.

The ImagineYOU project is a crucial step in motivating and inspiring Rochester youth to learn and prepare for their future.

“Teens have the opportunity to work with dedicated mentors and local artists both individually and in teams to explore traditional library materials as well as cutting edge digital media equipment,” a statement reads.
