Rochester Main Street volunteers work to beautify Central Square

On the afternoon of Friday, May 27th, volunteers for Rochester Main Street worked to beautify Central Square, in downtown Rochester.

According to organizers, the nonprofit collaborated with Studley’s Flower Gardens to design and plant flowers around the Parson Main monument and the new ‘Welcome to Downtown’ sign, where the annual Christmas Tree is located every December.

“We were thrilled to have nice weather and get everything planted,” said Matt Wyatt, RMS Board Member. “Our goal was to make Central Square look more vibrant for residents and visitors entering the downtown. We thank Studley’s and all the volunteers that helped to make the day a success.”

Wyatt also stated that Rochester Main Street is committed to maintaining the gardens and future plantings will occur annually. The organization is looking for volunteers to assist with weekly maintenance and any upcoming gardening and cleanup projects.
