Rochester Cares: Rochester Main Street to host Downtown Clean Up Day on 4/23

Published on

Rochester Main Street will be hosting Rochester Cares on Saturday, April 23, starting at 9am, in downtown Rochester.

Rochester Cares is an annual “day of caring” where community members, nonprofits, and business groups volunteer their time to give downtown a spring cleaning.

RMS board member Jeff Bisson describes Rochester Cares as “a great way for citizens to get involved and better their community.”

“Rochester Cares is an annual event that brings together people of all walks to clean up downtown,” said Bisson. “It’s an incredible team effort.”

Prospective volunteers are encouraged to meet for instructions/assignments at the Parson Main monument in Central Square.  Free coffee and donuts will be provided. Main Street will be providing large bags for trash cleanup. The City of Rochester will be donating bark mulch for volunteers to spread in public gardens and tree wells.

According to Bisson, volunteers are encouraged to bring their own gloves, rakes, and wheelbarrows.

“All are welcome. No RSVP required,” said Bisson. “We encourage individuals, families, and business/nonprofit teams to join us. Wear comfortable clothes and footwear!”

Rochester Main Street is a 501c3 nonprofit organization sponsored by the Economic Development Department, City of Rochester, New Hampshire. Visit www.rochestermainstreet.org to learn more.
