RFD Chief receives NHCFO II designation

Rochester Fire Department Chief, Mark Klose, officially received the NHCFO II designation from the New Hampshire Association of Fire Chiefs.

The NHCHO designation is voluntary and recognizes education, training, and experience relative to the position of chief fire officer. The New Hampshire Chief Fire Officer designation is solely administered by the New Hampshire Association of Fire Chiefs. There are two levels of designation: New Hampshire Chief Fire Officer I and New Hampshire Chief Fire Officer II.

On October 29th, the Certification Committee reviewed Chief Klose’s application and unanimously voted to grant the NHCFO II designation.

The certification is based on points earned for experience, education, certifications, recommendations, professional development, professional contributions, professional memberships, affiliations, and community involvement.

“On behalf of the New Hampshire Association of Fire Chiefs, the New Hampshire Municipal Association, and NH Primex, we commend [Chief Klose’s] efforts in attaining this personal and professional achievement,” said Michael W. Sitar, Jr., Chairman, NHAFC Certification Committee and Vice President, New Hampshire Association of Fire Chiefs.

These designations are in place to further enhance and recognize the professionalism of Chief Fire Officers within the State of New Hampshire. The program supports the Chief Fire Officer (CFO) designation offered by the Center for Public Safety Excellence (CPSE).

Designees receive an NHAFC NH CFO Certificate and Commendation Bar.
