Rec. Dept. seeks summer Lifeguards, Pool Attendant, and Pool Maintenance Staff

The Recreation & Arena Department is seeking energetic, responsible individuals to fill the roles of Lifeguard, Pool Attendant, and Pool Maintenance Staff for the summer of 2022.  

According to Marketing Program Coordinator, Nicole Lee, this is “a great opportunity to make money while spending time in the sun and making a positive impact on your community!” 

Positions are available from late June through August. Lifeguards can work up to 40 hours/week, and starting pay is $13/hour. Pool Attendant and Maintenance staff can work up to 20 hours/week, and starting pay is $11/hour.  
 
Applicants must be at least 16 years of age. The City will consider hiring responsible 15-year-olds. Requirements include certification in CPR and First Aid, or the ability to take an internal Rochester Recreation certification course.

Rochester Recreation provides free lifeguard certification training for eligible candidates. Candidates who recently obtained their lifeguard certification may qualify for a $400 training reimbursement at the end of a successful summer of employment. Pre-employment testing includes criminal record checks and drug screening.
