Police Chief Gary Boudreau proudly told city police commissioners criminal activity in the city has been dropping over the past five years.
He said he sees a city working hard to revitalize, in every area, and it’s having a positive impact.
“We started tracking our crimes about 15 years ago,” Boudreau said. He is in his 24th year with the department, taking over as chief at the start of 2022. “You can’t improve without looking back. The decrease is not the result of any one thing. It’s a community effort, with everyone wanting to change for the better, and it’s starting to pay off. We are seeing a lot of pride in our city, and that drives change.”
